Picking your wedding photographer is a big deal. Not only is it one of the most expensive vendors you’ll book, but they’re also in charge of capturing and curating your memories.

With so many photographers in the Central Texas area, not one is the same as the other. Everyone includes different kinds of information on their price guides and no one offers the exact same services.

For example, some photographers include engagement sessions in their packages while some sell it as an add-on. And only a few sell physical products in addition to digital prints these days. (A lost art, in my opinion.) You definitely don't want any hidden surprises throughout the planning process. Or worse, you don't want to be disappointed with the vendor you just invested thousands of dollars in.

The most important question to ask your photographer is whether or not they have a contract.

If they don't have a contract, run. Contracts don't just protect vendors. They protect you, too. Contracts should tell you when you'll expect your gallery, what happens if you need to postpone or cancel your wedding, and ensures you that if for some reason you don't get final images you will be reimbursed.
