Last November I traveled to the gorgeous White Sands National Park to capture Lucas and Rachel's engagement photos. These two get married this winter at Barr Mansion, and I can't wait to document their wedding day.
First thing you need to know is that Rachel and Lucas had a meet-cute moment a-la 101 Dalmatians that would have made Pongo and Perdita proud. They lived in the same apartment complex, and met one day while they were walking their golden retrievers. Margot and Tydus worked some magic, and the rest is history.
So obviously Margot and Tydus had to be part of their engagement photos at White Sands.
We all met up at White Sands and spent the first half of the session simply playing with the pups. (The best way to ease into a photo session if you ask me.) We played fetch, sled down the white sand, and Tydus especially enjoyed digging around in the sand.
I'll never forget the first time I met Rachel and Lucas for their consultation. I am always a tad nervous during consultations and I remember fondly Rachel just looking at me with a calm smile and saying, "We trust you to photograph our wedding day." That moment and knowing I had their trust has allowed me to feel confident and at peace while taking their photos, so it's no surprise that their engagement photos at White Sands are some of the best work I've ever created.
This engagement session was such a fun and special way to get to know each other and kick off working together on bringing their wedding experience to life. 10/10 recommend an adventure session to turn your engagement photos into a memorable experience.
