Frequently Asked Questions
What makes your approach to weddings different?
How much are your wedding packages?
I have a documentary approach to weddings, which means I focus primarily on photographing your day as it really happens. I don't pose you to pretend something is happening organically if it isn't actually happening. Instead, you get to focus on being present! I do still take posed portraits and group photos.
Elopements and intimate weddings start at $2000. Full day weddings start at $3200. Once you submit your inquiry, we'll schedule a consultation so I can learn all about your wedding and your coverage needs. Once I have all that info, I send you a custom proposal with three different options tailored to your needs.
Do your packages include wedding albums?
Are you enthusiastic about serving LGBTQ+ couples?
Yes! All of my custom wedding proposals include at least one option with fine art album custom-made by me. I print with one of the best album companies in the wedding industry to ensure your album is heirloom-quality and will outlive you. You're always welcome to order an album from your wedding, even if it's been a few years since the original date.
YES. I love my LGBTQ+ couples and I can't wait until we live in a world where you don't have to ask this anymore. Tess Leslie Photography is LGBTQ+ Inclusive Certified by EquallyWed, which means I've taken a training to learn best practices while serving the LGBTQ+ community. Of course, if you have any feedback on ways I can be a better ally, please let me know.
What if we need to cancel or reschedule our wedding?
What are your travel fees?
The first 50 miles are always included in my packages. For drive-able Texas-based weddings that require an overnight stay, the travel fee is $300. For all other weddings that require a plane ride and two night stay, the fee starts at $800 but may be more depending on the location and the travel industry rates.
If you’ve already paid for the wedding, then your 25% deposit is non-refundable. I will try my best to accommodate a new date, but if I’m already booked on that day, then your deposit is still non-refundable. If something happens to me, I will send an associate photographer with a similar approach in my place, and I will still edit the photos.
