An Intimate Chapel Dulcinea Elopement

January 20, 2023

This Chapel Dulcinea elopement will forever hold a special space in my heart.

After being engaged for 7 years waiting for the “right time,” Natasha and Romina decided they were tired of waiting. Nine days after deciding to elope, they married at Chapel Dulcinea on an idyllic 70-degree sunny afternoon.

I had a lot in common with these two. We celebrated our 8 year anniversaries the same weekend. I also got married “on a whim” to the person I’ve loved for years. (And at the very same venue!)

Natasha and Romina’s Chapel Dulcinea elopement felt sacred.

It was an honor to bear witness to their love. They did each other’s hair and makeup while getting ready together at the venue. Before beginning the ceremony, Natasha lit some frankincense and sage, blessing the space and setting an intention for the ceremony. She walked down the aisle to the Etta James classic “At Last.” During the ceremony they lit a unity candle and sealed the marriage with a kiss and a jumping of the broom. Every moment was intentional and held special meaning — exactly how an elopement should feel.

I am so grateful that Austin is home to Chapel Dulcinea, an affordable and gorgeous wedding venue that makes eloping a dream come true. If you’re also interested in planning a wedding at the chapel, I recommend my guide to Chapel Dulcinea weddings. Since my wedding at Chapel Dulcinea myself in 2018, I have photographed dozens of weddings and elopements at the venue. I’d say I’ve learned a thing or two!
