Thanks to this elegant Barr Mansion wedding celebration, I will not be forgetting the 21st Night of September anytime soon.
Meaghan and Cole planned an unforgettable wedding celebration for their guests who traveled to Austin from near and far. While the couple resides in New York City, they chose to get married in Meaghan’s hometown. I might be biased as a wedding photographer who has shot many weddings at Barr Mansion, but they picked the perfect wedding venue for their celebration. (Here is my guide to Barr Mansion weddings, if your curious!) They showed their friends and family how Texans throw a party.
This Barr Mansion wedding felt like Manhattan met the heart of Texas.
Meaghan and Cole started their day getting ready with their wedding party at Prospect Hotel. While the boys enjoyed a laidback brunch, the girls got ready with espresso martinis in hand.

After a relaxing morning of preparation, Meaghan and Cole were married in a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony at Saint Mary’s Cathedral in downtown Austin. I love photographing weddings at Saint Mary’s because it is dramatic and beautiful — everything you want from a cathedral wedding venue!

Afterward, the wedding party took group photos in front of Saint Mary’s Cathedral. Sherpa Lux transported guests to Barr Mansion Ballroom and Farmstead for the reception. The Barr Mansion team welcomed guests with a cocktail hour featuring the iconic Casey’s snow cones.

I’d be remiss to not mention their stunning reception details at this Barr Mansion wedding.
The couple leaned into a classic black and white theme for their reception at Barr Mansion, but also incorporated some fun trends like hanging disco balls from the ceiling and a multi-tiered white vintage cake. I especially loved the way they incorporated their beagle, Duke, into the decor via their placards.

After a farm-to-table dinner catered by Barr Mansion, Meaghan and Cole partied the night away. As a former concert photographer, I love to see a full dance floor at a wedding! This is my favorite part of the wedding day because the couple is finally able to relax and enjoy their evening. I also get to be creative with dance floor shots. It’s safe to say you’ll always hear me encourage you to keep your wedding photographer through the whole evening. The crew closed out the night with a sing-along to Billy Joel’s Piano Man.
