If you’re planning engagement photos in Philadelphia, one of the first questions you’ll ask is: Where should we take them?
The beauty of Philly is that you don’t have to choose between historic charm, grand architecture, skyline views, or something a little unexpected — it’s all here within a few miles.
As a wedding photographer with over 10 years of experience (and now splitting my time between Texas and Philadelphia), I’m always scouting locations that feel both iconic and personal. These spots consistently deliver timeless, romantic, and story-driven engagement galleries.

Choosing the Right Location for Your Engagement Photos in Philadelphia
The best engagement photos in Philadelphia aren’t dependent on just picking the most iconic location. It’s key to choose a place that genuinely reflects your personalities and interests as a couple. Maybe you spend your Saturdays wandering farmers markets in Rittenhouse, biking along the Schuylkill, or grabbing wine in Old City. The right setting should feel like an extension of your relationship — not just a pretty backdrop.
That’s where I come in. I guide my couples through thoughtful location combinations, intentional timing for the best natural light, and outfit coordination that complements both the environment and each other. I also help navigate permit logistics so you don’t have to worry about the fine print. The goal is a session that feels relaxed, cohesive, and true to who you are. Not rushed, overly posed, or disconnected from your story.
When all those pieces align — location, light, styling, and connection — your engagement photos don’t just look beautiful. They feel like you.
About Tess Leslie Photography

I’m a wedding photographer with over a decade of experience documenting couples in a way that feels natural, emotional, and true to life. My approach blends a documentary eye with an editorial touch. I shoot both digital and 35mm film, which helps me create galleries that feel nostalgic, romantic, and full of real moments.
I’m currently splitting my time between Texas and Philadelphia, and I love helping couples feel at ease in front of the camera while guiding them toward locations, light, and movement that photograph beautifully. Whether we’re wandering cobblestone streets in Old City or chasing golden light somewhere meaningful to you, my goal is always the same: photos that feel like your relationship, not just a photoshoot.
