Photographing this intimate San Antonio wedding at Lambermont Events was a true full circle moment for my career.
I have known Nicole since I was in fifth grade. Until we went our separate ways for college, we were inseparable. During family photos, Nicole’s mom yelled out at me, “I remember the Christmas when your parents gifted you your first real camera!” That was in 2009 – 16 years ago! It feels surreal to make art for someone I’ve called a friend for 20 years and deliver photos to people who have been a second family to me.

From the very beginning, it was clear that Nicole and Patrick wanted a wedding that felt relaxed and centered around the people they love most. Set against the backdrop of two of San Antonio’s most beautiful historic venues, the entire celebration struck a perfect balance between timeless elegance and genuine connection.
As a wedding photojournalist, I’m always drawn to celebrations that prioritize experience over performance. This wedding was a beautiful reminder that the most memorable days aren’t necessarily the busiest. They’re the ones where couples have the freedom to be fully present. From a ceremony officiated by one of their closest friends to the intimate al-fresco dinner, every part of the day reflected that philosophy.
The ceremony was held at Lambermont Events, a venue fit for royalty.
Lambermont is one of the most unique wedding venues in San Antonio. Built in 1894, Edwin Holland Terrell was inspired by the grand châteaus of Belgium and France when he hired renowned architect Alfred Giles to build what he called a “castle for his bride.”
Today, the historic estate is owned and managed by mother-daughter duo Dona Liston and Erica Maynard. They have preserved its old-world charm while transforming it into one of the city’s most beloved wedding venues.
Stepping onto the property feels like leaving Texas behind altogether. It’s the kind of venue that needs very little added decoration. The architecture and lush grounds create a naturally stunning backdrop for both ceremonies and portraits. Whether you’re dreaming of a fairytale-inspired celebration or just love venues with rich history and character, Lambermont offers a setting that’s every bit as memorable as the wedding day itself.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with an intimate outdoor reception at The Jewel in King William.
Nestled in San Antonio’s historic King William District, The Jewel offers a blend of historic charm and understated elegance. For this wedding, the courtyard was the perfect setting for a relaxed evening shared with their closest family and friends.
As guests gathered beneath the trees, they enjoyed a leisurely dinner catered by Piatti’s, heartfelt toasts, and conversation that lingered well into the evening. I love receptions like this because they leave room for what matters most: connection. Without the rush of a packed timeline, Nicole and Patrick were able to spend meaningful time with every guest.
Their day was beautiful, and made possible by an incredible vendor team who went above and beyond to bring their vision to life.
