Black & White Wedding at Barr Mansion

October 4, 2023

Barr Mansion was the perfect backdrop for this black and white themed wedding in Austin, Texas.

In honor of the Moore’s wedding’s recent feature in Wed Society, let’s revisit some of my favorite details from this winter wedding at Barr Mansion last December.

When Rachel first told her vision of a black and white wedding featuring baby’s breath and black bridesmaids dresses, I was immediately obsessed. Seeing it all come together the day of, I was in awe. Bouquets of Austin and Kristin Catter Events truly understood the assignment. In particular, I loved the hanging roses installation, the black candles, and the way they draped the baby’s breath down the reception tables.

I can’t forget to mention the adorable ways Rachel and Lucas incorporated their dogs at Barr Mansion throughout the wedding.

Margot and Tydus attended the wedding ceremony and had their own personal first look at the beginning of the festivities. After the pups left during cocktail hour, their presence was still felt through the thoughtful decor details. They each had a specialty cocktail complete with golden retriever cocktail stirrers. They were also spotted in miniature form taking bite out of the wedding cake.

From day one, Rachel and Lucas made it abundantly clear that they trusted me wholeheartedly to capture their wedding day. This is the same couple who traveled to White Sands for their engagement photos, after all! Trust is an integral ingredient to beautiful wedding photos that capture your day authentically. I really think you can feel that when you look through their wedding photos.
