Bookstore Bridal Photo Session in Austin, Texas

January 17, 2025

This bookstore bridal photo session at Vintage Bookstore and Wine Bar in east Austin screams Bridgerton meets Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.”

Abigail and Austin were married at the LBJ Wildflower Center in April. Because Abigail has a romance book podcast, I immediately pictured the session inside a bookstore. We rented Vintage Bookstore and Wine Bar, a family-owned business in the heart of East Austin, located inside a historic 142 year-old building. I saw Vintage as a symbol of Abigail and Austin’s marriage. Her personality being the bookstore side and his being the wine bar, since Austin is a sommelier.

My vision for her bridals was to combine a historic romance vibe with a modern twist. The bookstore bridal photo session was captured both on a digital camera and 35 mm film. I used natural lighting with the digital camera and then honed in on the vintage aesthetic of film by using flash.

Abigail and I enjoyed getting creative during her bridal session. We turned up Taylor Swift’s Lover, explored every nook and cranny of Vintage Bookstore and Wine Bar, and incorporated some of Abigail’s favorite author’s books, like Emily Henry’s Book Lovers.
